Happy Birthday, Bill!

In case you haven’t seen it, Goodreads posted this pretty nifty infographic in honor of William Shakespeare’s birth and general awesomeness:

My favorite Shakespeare: a dead tie between Titus Andronicus and The Tempest.  They couldn’t be more different but they’ve both captured pieces of my nerdy little heart.

On a related note:   I was BLESSED enough to catch Alan Cumming’s one-man rendition of Macbeth over the weekend at the Barrymore Theater. OMFG.SO.GOOD.  There are very few actors who can inhabit Shakespeare in the way that Alan Cumming can.    He breathes such life and brings such urgency to the language.  BRILLIANT.  I swear, his Lady Macbeth was the most honest, present performance of the part I’ve seen to date.

We gave him a (well-deserved) standing ovation and three curtain calls on Saturday night.  If you’re in New York, or anywhere near New York, I HIGHLY suggest that you make catching one of the only 59 performances left.
