One of my favorite things: Wendy Goodman’s Design Hunting email blasts via New York Magazine. Goodman has an amazing eye for spaces that inspire and access to some of the most beautifully designed rooms in New York. I love flipping through her slide shows.
This week, her write up was on John Eaton’s redesign of Bobbi Brown‘s Soho headquarters. Eaton is the company’s design director by title, and apparently interior design is one of his many talents. I’m really digging the multiple media walls (above), and the thirties banker’s desk with brown leather writing surface. I also feel like I kind of need a “Keep Calm and Wear Lipstick” print STAT.
In company president Maureen Case’s office, I’m seriously coveting the black-and-white photographs of the Duchess of Windsor, Marlene Dietrich, and Gertrude Stein (among others), by Horst P. Horst and Cecil Beaton (see below). Also, absolutely envying her view through those amazing huge leaded windows. The lamp is lovely, but there’s NOTHING like TONS of natural light.
